Are you and your little furry friend both beach lovers looking to take a dip this summer? Lucky for you, we’ve compiled the ultimate north Brisbane dog beaches in the Moreton Bay Region.
Dogs are allowed on-leash on the foreshore at Godwin Beach, including the grassed area adjacent to the Esplanade.
For some off-leash fun on Bribie Island, the beach from Red Beach car park around to Woody Bay, Woorim is an ideal choice and one of the most popular north Brisbane dog beaches in Moreton Bay Region. Then, from Woody Bay to the pathway opposite the Koolamara at the corner of Lowry and Benelong Streets is also an off-leash dog area.
Dogs are also allowed on-leash at the entrance to Woorim Beach (from the entrance at the northern end of North Street northwards to the 4WD access track) and the beach north of Boronia Drive to the end of Sylvan Beach Esplanade.
There are some great options for taking your dog for a walk on the leash in Redcliffe. Try any beach between the Houghton Highway and Woody Point Jetty, Clontarf and Woody Point, and any beach between Jamieson Park and Endeavour Park, Scarborough.
The only off-leash Redcliffe dog beach on the peninsula is Queens Beach, a 600-metre stretch of sand between Scarborough Beach in the north and Osbourne Point in the south. This beach becomes an off-leash beach before 8 am and after 4 pm daily (as part of a trial period). The off-leash area is found between Drury Point (Kennedy Esplanade) and Osbourne Point (Flinders Lane).
In Deception Bay, off-leash dogs can roam the beach between Seaview Parade and Windlass Street, and the beach between Wallin Avenue and Joseph Crescent. There is currently an on-leash trial of the foreshore footpath area between Wallin Avenue and Joseph Crescent before 8.00am and after 4.00pm daily.
Off-leash dogs are allowed around the southern end of Biggs Avenue adjacent to the carpark, south to the mouth of Caboolture River on the foreshore only. Please ensure they do NOT enter the adjacent Beachmere South Reserve and estuary as it is prohibited. The foreshore parkland adjacent to Timothy Esplanade on Bakers Flat Road is an on-leash dog area.
